30 Day Web Video Action Plan for Your Firm or Small Business

If you are overwhelmed, stressed and too busy, it is time to rethink your firm’s business strategy.  The right marketing strategy can make you more money and save you time.  Above all other things, a long term marketing renovation can help you take control of your work and your personal life. You want to be home for dinner right?  You can, but you need to take action.  Getting started is the hardest part so here are three ways you can use video during the last month of 2010 to get you on the path to success and a more rewarding life.

  1. You already know that you can do your own video.  If you are a good public speaker, you will be good on camera.  You don’t need to be Brad Pitt, you just need to be you.  Potential clients want to hire someone who is like them anyway, so be yourself and start making videos that answer basic questions about your firm, practice areas or specialties.  But, if you have a face for radio or just don’t feel comfortable on camera, get someone else to do it.  Either someone in your office or one of our professional spokesmodels.  Not wanting to be on camera is not a good enough reason to bag web video.
  2. Get the equipment or hire someone.  Not having the gear is no excuse.  You can get a handheld video camera for less than $100 and create a YouTube Channel for free.  If you find this process to be a hassle, call a professional.  The rates are more reasonable than you think, and you can set your web video marketing on autopilot.
  3. Start at the beginning.  Seriously, start with the most basic and simple video you could possibly make.  If you are a lawyer, your definition of a simple legal question is different than the rest of us.  Make a list of questions that you can create a one-minute video about.  Here are a few examples:
  • “What should I do if I’ve been in a car accident?”
  • “What should I do if the insurance company calls?”
  • “How do I know if a lawyer is board-certified?”

You get the idea.  It’s not hard, and you already know the answers.  Just make sure you aren’t using legal mumbo jumbo and that you are talking directly the potential clients who probably have never needed a lawyer before and have no idea what they should do.

If you want to use web video to make a real difference in your marketing, set up a 30 day action plan and get to work.  Any action is better than no action at all, so don’t wait another minute.  At the Fairfax Video Studio, we get the bigger picture.  Video is just one piece of your marketing puzzle and you have a busy schedule.  Call us at 877.477.STUDIO and we will customize a plan just for you.
