A Poorly Made Web Video May Send the Wrong Impression

The Internet is bursting with videos these days and it is not just YouTube with user submitted content. There are companies out there that are learning to utilize the great power that video can add to a website.

Many of the top ranking business websites have either a video explaining who they are on the front page or a link to a video section. Whatever it may be, making sure that you incorporate Web video into your site is key to retaining and attracting clients.

If you are the owner of a company and you decide to make a video explaining your business with you being the primary actor, it adds a face and a personal touch to your message. It shows that you have invested your time and thought into making a video and that you truly care about how you are viewed by your clients.

Now, if you are going attempt to shoot the video on your own, then there are a few pitfalls you need to avoid. When it comes to a homemade Web video, lighting, graphics, sound, location, dialogue and editing are often overlooked. You may be a professional in your field, but poor video production may not send the right impression. Your clients will know the difference and they will be more willing to watch a video that is sharp and polished than a video that looks like it was made in someone’s living room.
