Online Video Ads Are Becoming Accepted By Consumers

Whether you want to admit it or not, online video advertisements are becoming more and more frequented and accepted by the public. Chances are that your competition has already produced an online video advertisement, or are in the process of doing so.

Have you done an online video advertisement yet? If you haven’t here are some things to consider (Statistics from Freewheel):

  • The growth rate for video ad views in the third quarter of 2011 is faster than the growth rate of video views
  • Video ad dollars are projected to rise 52% this year
  • The growth rate based on Freewheel’s analysis of 12 billion videos on ESPN, Discovery, Fox, VEVO and Turner showed a growth rate of 128% for video ad views. Video views, on the other hand, grew 97%
  • Videos longer than 20 minutes had the most ads per video (5)
  • Ads placed on videos longer than 20 minutes had an 82% completion rate

What do these stats mean for you? It means that consumers are becoming more and more tolerant of online video ads and that you now have a new market that you can reach with your advertising campaign.
