Quality Video Production Starts With Your Camera

Even after scouring the aisles at the giant electronic store or spending hours online researching, you might still be confused as to which video camera is right for you.  Not only are there various brands to choose from, there are also different types of cameras.  You need to know the difference between video cameras, so that you purchase the one that is right for you.

Before you drop your hard-earned money on a camera, you should think about your specific needs.  Do you need a camera with basic features or do you want one that allows you to get creative?  You should also think about your technical requirements and your budget.

Here is a sample of some of the types of video cameras on the market:

  • Flip Cameras: These all-digital video recorders are simple to use, but don’t have a lot of features.  They are also inexpensive.
  • Consumer Cameras: These devices are generally automatic and come with a decent zoom lens.
  • Prosumer Cameras:  This type of camera is typically used by a person who is somewhere in between being a consumer and professional user.  The cameras are harder to use, but provide a lot of artistic control.
  • Professional Cameras: A professional camera is sturdier than the other types of recorders and produces higher quality videos.
