Take Care of Your Feet. Or, See Dr. Shah if You Don't.

Today we had Admit K. Shah and Tiffany Little from the Family Foot & Ankle Specialists in the studio.  Admit did a great job speaking in front of the camera about various topics, from surgeries that his practice performs, to various technologies he uses during procedures, to preventive care.

Now, I don't have any foot problems and I'm very physically active, so preventive care is especially important to me.  Dr. Shah suggests that people without foot problems keep active: get up and move around every so often at work.  Maintaining one position, especially for sitting, is very bad - this is because our bodies need movement for proper circulation.

It's also pretty common to twist or roll your ankle, so he has some advice for handling that situation: if you twist your ankle, get off it immediately, ice it, and call your local foot/ankle specialist to see them right away.  If you don't see a doctor at this crucial time, you are setting yourself up for chronic pain and tearing and rupturing of ligaments.  If you sprain your ankle, it's very important that you don't put off seeing a doctor.

We hope those tips come in handy for you at some point!

It was an absolute pleasure having Admit and Tiffany in the studio today; we love speaking with professionals who truly enjoy what they do and helping people.  Check them out at www.stopfootpainfast.com.
