YouTube Insights Will Make Your Web Video More Effective

As we have said before, YouTube wants you to succeed.  We want you to succeed too, which is why we have some great tips for improving your video marketing.  Created in the same fashion as Google Analytics, we want to introduce YouTube Insights.  With your free account, you will have access to a variety of data about who is watching your videos.  Considering YouTube is getting one billion hits per day, we all need to take advantage of this awesome site.  Here are a few things to pay close attention to:

• Views – You can see how many views each video has and how many total views your channel has picked up.  You can also spot which days and what regions your videos are popular in.  Think about the data you observe.  If you can figure out why your videos are more popular on certain days and in certain places, you can create more effective videos next time.  You may even want to create a schedule so viewers will know when to expect new videos.
• Discovery – How did people find your video?  Take the time to think about where you are posting links and embedding your videos.  Continue working hard at link building and explore new places to showcase your content.
  
• Demographics – Who are the people watching and why are they interested?  Are you including a call to action?  These are your potential clients; make sure they know what to do if they are interested in your services.
  
• Community – See who commented, rated and “favorited” your videos.  This will give you even further insight into which videos are the most popular and most successful.  
• Subscribers – See who is subscribing.  These people love your videos, and they want more!  If you aren’t including a call to action, you are letting these hot leads slip away.
