YouTube Releases New Video Manager Layout
On the heels of the recent homepage update, YouTube released an updated version of the Video Manager feature last Thursday. The video manager keeps in tune with the homepage layout in its simplistic design (and gray color scheme) – the navigational icons on the top and left-hand side tool bars are cleaner and more distinctive. The new and improved Video Manager features an upload dropdown menu for quick and easy uploads. In addition, the new layout features badges that notifies the viewer of video settings including Closed Captioning, video formatting and also any Creative Commons licensing information. Here’s a before and after image of the new video manager layout, provided by the YouTube team:

One of the notable features of this update are the icons on the right-hand side of the page, which allow the viewer to see if videos are public, private or unlisted. Additionally, viewers can see the videos’ scheduled publish status, as well as monetization status (revenue sharing). Monetization of videos on YouTube allows users to gain revenue from their own original content through advertisements provided by YouTube partners.
