YouTube Tests Live Video
Last week, YouTube tested live streaming video with four of its major partners. Live online video is not a groundbreaking achievement anymore, perhaps why this experiment didn’t get much press. Over the past few years, live video has become very popular for sporting events, most notably the NCAA March Madness Tournament. Almost every basketball fan in the world had a tab open on their computers at work in hopes of watching live games when their bosses were not looking!Considering the scale of YouTube, where people are currently watching about two billion videos each day, they could make a push for live video that would rival television. Can you imagine “YouTube World News at 9” or “Monday Night Football on YouTube”? This is purely hypothetical, but Google and YouTube have earned a reputation for going big or going home. We can expect live YouTube broadcasts of special events in the near future.
In the dynamic and ever changing online world, video is not a passing trend. Yes, it is trendy, but it is so effective and popular that we can expect it to play a major role in all things online for the foreseeable future. We have only grazed the surface of both the Internet and web video. You can be a part of new wave of web video. Call us today at 877.477.STUDIO or fill out a contact form.
