Nikon D7000 Camera Receives 2011 Product Design Award

Posted on Apr 29, 2011

The Nikon D7000, a favorite of Fairfax Video Studio photographers, has received the prestigious "red dot award: product design" award for 2011.

The "red dot award: product design" is a world-class award presented by Germany's Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. The award recognizes products over the past two years that demonstrate superiority in terms of nine separate aspects, including innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecology and durability. Over 4,400 different products from 1,700 different companies in 60 countries around the world were entered into competition.  The Nikon D7000 camera along with other red dot winners, including three other Nikon cameras, will be exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany over the 2011 summer.

The D7000 is a mid-level DX-format digital-SLR camera with a compact body and a host of advanced functions.  The camera comes equipped with a DX-format CMOS sensor, the new EXPEED 2 image processing engine, a 2,016-pixel RGB metering sensor, an AF system utilizing 39 focus points, and the D-Movie function that supports the recording of full-HD movies.

The Nikon D7000 camera has already been a piece of equipment in use by photographers here at Fairfax Video Studio for some time. The D7000 allows our photographers to capture beautiful video and still images, while controlling creative aspects like depth of field.
